The History of A&E Graphics Inc.

In 1967 Mike O'Brien started his career in the printing industry, foreshadowing a family business that would grow into the next generation of O'Brien family printers.

Mike worked for printing companies in every area of expertise, from repairing print machines to running operations for divisions of large printing houses. From 1980 to '84 he was the technical advisor for Canada at one of the largest printing companies in the world.

In 1984 Mike & Donna, Josh’s Parents, started their own print shop, also a family business. Their three children were in the shop often and would spend some time helping out by stuffing envelopes or collating. All the while, John & Susan, Amanda’s Parents, were doing the same in their print shop in the Ottawa area with their three children, who assisted them as well! Both Josh and Amanda were exposed to the industry at an early age and learned the trade since adolescence.

The O’Briens settled in the Durham area in 2006 to start the print shop that has become the business that it is today: A&E Graphics Inc. Josh O'Brien, General Manager, and his wife Amanda O'Brien, Designer & Production, with the help of many family members & talented staff make up the team that will be at the forefront of seeing the family business into its next chapter.
